The Santa Clarita Coalition is a 501c3 established as a Disaster Relief and Humanitarian Relief resource for the Santa Clarita Valley.
The Santa Clarita Coalition is sponsored by KHTS AM/FM radio and founded by Carl Goldman and Jeri Seratti Goldman. They set up the Coalition to function as a “2nd responder” service that quickly mobilizes resources around people who have experienced disasters, floods, fire, loss, and life-threatening situations.
The Santa Clarita Coalition is a 501c3 where all contributions are tax deductible and 100% of the contributions go to specific needs at hand.
Santa Clarita Grocery is the Coalition’s Humanitarian Relief branch addressing food insecurity that provides weekly groceries to the food insecure, including making special grocery provisions for Veterans and Seniors.
The Santa Clarita Coalition believes that there is strength in numbers and through teaming up with other organizations, companies, faith-based groups and local non-profits. The Santa Clarita Coalition can meet the need as a community not an entity.
The Santa Clarita Coalition is funded by both corporate and personal contributions and is set up to produce fundraisers within hours of personal and city-wide disasters, accidents, and situations needing support.
Santa Clarita Coalition – SCV Coalition
Our coalition serves as a conduit to connect various Santa Clarita non-profit stakeholders using drum and music therapy as a tool to assist their at risk populations. Our mission is to advance the use of music and rhythm as a life enhancement activity whenever and wherever it is needed. We have been working with local organizations whose at risk populations include Alzheimer and Dementia Patients (Senior Center), Domestic Violence (SCV Domestic Violence Center), Drug and Alcohol, Autism and Post Traumatic Stress victims.
In addition to our music therapy and disaster preparedness initiative, In the future, we envision expanding into two other areas under our coalition umbrella.
In recent years, KHTS has become a conduit for families who have a missing teenager. We envision the coalition, becoming a catalyst for support for the families, through counseling, coordination with law enforcement, assisting in getting the word out to locate the missing teen and to offer family intervention once the teen is reunited.
Through our work establishing SCV Habitat for Heroes we uncovered a need to assist our local Santa Clarita Veterans with a local one-stop information/assistance organization. Its purpose will be to navigate through all the local services available to our veterans and to connect all our local stakeholders and relevant non-profits.
